The wait is over. Kiowa District Hospital (KDH) Childcare is tentatively set to open April 15. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) was scheduled to visit the childcare facility this Wednesday, KDH CEO/CFO Janell Goodno confirmed.
At the March 29 regular KDH Board meeting Goodno told board members they could open the childcare pending the KDHE visit for their final inspection. As the facility opens, it will be full with employees' children. Because KDH gets Medicare reimbursement for the childcare children, providing this service is free and considered an employee benefit.
