Next Saturday, April 16, the annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Alva's downtown square. This scene from last year shows youngsters collecting eggs in hopes of big prizes.

Plans are underway for the 2022 Easter Egg Hunt in Alva sponsored by the Alva Fire Department. Saturday morning, April 16, at 10 a.m. the sirens will sound signaling the beginning of the hunt.

There will be five age or school grade divisions along with a new division for special needs kids.

• 0-2 years are northeast of the courthouse

• 3-4 years are northeast of the courthouse

• 5-6 years are southeast of the courthouse

• Grades 1-3 are southwest of the courthouse

• Grades 4-6 are northwest of the courthouse

• Special needs children will be on the post office lawn

Eggs containing a note stating "you've won a prize" are scattered among the regular eggs. Those should be taken to the volunteer stationed in your age division to receive a prize. Those with a note that says "New Bike" or "Silver Coin" should skip the prize line and immediately go to the courthouse stage at the west end of the courthouse to receive the prize and get a picture taken.
