One of the great pleasures of serving as an elected official is getting to recognize groups from home on the floor of the House of Representatives. Last week I had this honor on three separate days.

First off was the 23-member-strong Alva High School Marching Band with its Director Adam Steuart and Assistant Director Christopher Alexander. This band, made up of 8th through 12th graders, recently was invited to the Alamo Bowl to represent Alva and the state of Oklahoma in competition against bands from across the U.S. including some as large as 150 students.
