Panel meeting held for the April NWOGS monthly meeting

 


The Northwest Oklahoma Genealogy Society (NWOGS) remembered the devastating Woodward tornado that occurred on April 9, 1947, 75 years ago. A panel discussion was presented by Lakin Ragains Kastl who wrote the book “Relentless.” Lakin grew up in the Burlington, Oklahoma, area. She had never heard of the tornado until she was in class at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and her teacher was telling them about it. She said at first she was very surprised, then fascinated and then just plain angry that no one had ever discussed this storm with her. She started asking question of her parents,...
