Puffinbarger injured in rollover wreck

 


A man from Cherokee was injured in a rollover Tuesday. Chase Puffinbarger, 25, of Cherokee, was transported by Alfalfa County EMS to Share Medical Center in Alva and then taken to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with a head injury.

The wreck occurred at 6:24 p.m. on Greer Road west of County Road 570 and approximately 3.8 miles west of Cherokee in Alfalfa County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Puffinbarger was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Greer Road. Due to equipment failure, his vehicle departed the roadway to the left, struck a culvert and rolled one and one-quarter times coming to rest on the driver’s side. Puffinbarger was ejected approximately 32 feet from where the vehicle came to rest.

The cause of the wreck is listed as a defective vehicle. Puffinbarger was not wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper Trey Mathews investigated the scene. He was assisted by Alfalfa County Sheriff’s Office, Alfalfa County EMS and Cherokee Fire Department.
