Special sessions, tax relief, rural water

 


The Legislature adjourned regular session May 27, as we are constitutionally required to do. We are still convened in special session, adjourned to a call of the chair.

The governor, meanwhile, has called us into an additional special session, beginning June 13. The purpose is to eliminate the state sales tax on groceries and reduce the personal income tax for all Oklahomans. These are both things the House sought to do this year, but the legislation stalled in the Senate.
