The other day I was talking with one of the candidates whose name will be on the ballot for the Tuesday, June 28, primary election. He’s concerned that the turnout of voters will be small. It seems more people are inspired to vote when there’s a presidential election or maybe a controversial state question.

He pointed out that some city and county elections recently have been decided by just a handful of votes. Sometimes five votes or even just one can make a big difference.
