Woods County commissioners approve estimate of needs
June 8, 2022
The Woods County commissioners approved temporary appropriations for FY2022-2023 in the amount of $10,087,465.18, which is 80 percent of last year’s budget. Also included was the estimate of needs by department. Chairman Randy McMurphy said this is up slightly from last year, mainly due to employee raises.
The special meeting, rescheduled from Monday, was held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ office. The meeting was moved so County Clerk Shelley Reed who keeps the minutes could attend a family funeral. In addition to McMurphy, Commissioners David Hamil and John Smiley were also present.
The commissioners also approved the Woods County Health Department estimate of needs for the fiscal year beginning July 1. That amount is $1.1 million. McMurphy said this includes carryover each year and the 1.37 mill levy on property in the county.
The K101 Classic Bowl Band members used the courthouse lawn and stage on June 3 with verbal permission. The commissioners acknowledged the event and were happy to have the high school students in town.
A natural gas road crossing permit for Southern Star Central gas Pipeline was approved. It is located in Hamil’s District 1, and he said he had multiple discussions with them. The location is 33-28-14 to 34-28-14, and the permit cost is $500.
The commissioners approved the following monthly reports:
Assessor Collections $454.00
County Clerk Collections $20,328.29
Court Clerk Office Balance $75,522.82
Court Clerk RM & P Balance $9,350.01
Health Dept. Collections $0.00
Monthly appropriations and blanket purchase orders were also approved.
