Acts 2:1-21

Pentecost is the day that we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit into the church. Like God gathered some dust together and breathed into the dust to make Adam, Jesus gathered some people together and breathed into those people to make the church. It was because of the breath of God that Adam was able to live and to breath. In the same way, it’s because of the Holy Spirit that the Church can minister and share God’s love in the world in what Peter called the “last days.”

It kind of makes me sad that we often attach fear and despair to the idea of “end times.” We�...
