Alva's Myka Louthan wins four events at AAU track meet

Qualifies to compete in pentathlon at Region 16 Qualifier in Missouri

 

On June 4, Myka Louthan of Alva participated in an AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) track and field event held in Midwest City. She placed first in pole vault with 8 feet, first in triple jump with 30 feet 5 inches, first in 100-meter hurdles with a 17.20 and first in 200-meter hurdles with a 33.30.

Louthan has now qualified for AAU Region 16 Qualifier at Carl Junction, Missouri, June 23-26. She will compete in the pentathlon, which includes 100H, shot put, high jump, long jump and 800-meter run. Individual events include pole vault, triple jump, 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter hurdles.

Top 4 finishers in the pentathlon will advance to AAU Junior Olympic Games; there, the Top 6 in the individual event will advance to Junior Olympics in Greensboro, North Carolina, July 30-Aug. 6.

Myka Louthan is the daughter of JJ and Niki Louthan.
