One injured in Harper County collision

 


A woman from Buffalo was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Monday night. Lacy Harmon, 52, of Buffalo, was flown from the scene in stable condition with head, trunk, internal and arm injuries to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, the collision occurred at 10:11 p.m. at US0-64 and OK-46, approximately six miles west of Buffalo in Harper County.

Harmon was driving a 2018 Nissan Rogue eastbound on US-64 behind a 2003 GMC Denali with a 2015 Trail Runner 258 Travel Trailer being driven by Luis Coto, 57, of Garden City, Kansas. Coto was slowing down to make a right hand turn onto OK-46. Harmon was distracted by an electronic device and struck the Coto vehicle.

Harmon was extricated by the Laverne Fire Department and Buffalo Fire Department. All occupants were wearing seatbelts, and airbags deployed in the Harmon vehicle.

The OHP report lists the cause of the collision as inattentive driving: distraction inside vehicle.
