First class stamps increase to 60 cents Sunday

 


The U.S. Postal Service has announced a rate increase beginning next week. On June 9, 2022, the PRC announced the approval of changes, which include a two-cent increase in the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp from 58 cents to 60 cents for letters weighing one ounce or less. The second ounce will be 24 cents, up four cents. The postal service says the increase raises first class mail approximately 6.5 percent. The new rates are effective Sunday, July 10.
