Alva School Board to vote on hiring three teachers

 


The Alva Board of Education will meet Monday, July 11. The regular meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the Alva High School library. On the agenda is a vote on offering a one-year temporary contract to three certified teacher candidates.

The board will be voting on four teachers as adjunct instructors for the next school year. They are Dixie Meyer for chemistry, Mary Tyree for aeronautics, Sasha Kirkpatrick for physical education and Brooke Meyer for anatomy and physiology.

There will be a vote on accepting credits from Northwest Technology for students attending Career Tech classes and earning credits in mathematics and/or science for the next school year.

Board members will be voting on administrative, teacher and support personnel salary schedules as well as the extra duty salary schedule and extra duty assignments.

Two special education service contracts for occupational therapy and physical therapy will be considered. The board will also vote on renewing lease agreements for digital copiers and for buses.

Board members will discuss and vote on approving two contracts with TriArch Architecture for the Alva High cafeteria renovation and for paving projects.

Action will also be taken to accept an anonymous $13,500 donation to the Alva High School Athletics account.
