It was about 2:30 a.m. when a westbound vehicle failed to stop or turn at a T-intersection. The resulting crash sent all five occupants to the hospital. The wreck occurred early Thursday morning, July 14, on Harmon Road and County Road 900, approximately one mile south and five miles west of Medford in Grant County.

Charles Leslie Smith, 55, of Jet was driving a 2001 Dodge Durango with four passengers. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report lists the cause of the collision as inattention. Four of the occupants were transported by Miller EMS to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. The driver was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk external, arm and leg injuries.

Passenger Lorrie Smith, 47, of Jet was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk external, arm and leg injuries. Neither of the two adults was wearing a seatbelt according to the report.

The three juvenile passengers were wearing seatbelts. They included two males, ages 13 and 7, and one female, age 4. The seven-year-old was medi-flighted. All three were admitted at Wesley Medical in stable condition with head, trunk external, arm and leg injuries.
