Alfalfa County officials take no action on Cherokee hospital demo

Monday morning in Alfalfa County, Mike Roach, Jay Hague and Marvin Woodall listened to a presentation by Darren Theel of Theel Insurance and Financial Services. The three commissioners didn't take any action and expressed reluctance to change current insurance options.

Officials also opted to take no action on awarding bids for the demolition of the old hospital on Grand Street in Cherokee. Jackson Wrecking Company out of Enid sent in a bid totaling $104,000 while Level Demolition's came in at $100,000. The commissioners wanted more time to review the specifics.

Next, they approved a few transfers: One was for $10 from the Election Board M&O account (0001-1-2200-2005) to Election Board Part-time account (0001-1-2200-1130) for meetings. The second was for County General for new FICA and new unemployment accounts for beginning balances, and the third, a transfer from Districts 1-4 Unemployment account to Districts 1-4 FICA for a new account.

Nearing the meeting's end, the commissioners signed two resolutions: the first was to certify that no federal funding will be used for a project on NS-254 over Dry Creek (State Job Piece no. 30467(04). The last was to pay the first installment of the ACCO-SIG and ACCO-SIF insurance premiums out of ARPA funds. Previous meeting minutes, blanket purchase orders, and maintenance and operation payment warrants were approved earlier in the meeting.
