Covid-19 cases drop to 8 in Alva

 


Since last week, the number of Covid-19 active cases in Alva has decreased to eight, down three from last week. These numbers come from the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) weekly report released on Thursday. However, Waynoka had an increase in active cases with seven reported this week compared to five last week. No cases are listed for Dacoma or Freedom. The OSDH does not list active cases below five.

In the surrounding area, Cherokee continues to show zero cases. Buffalo is listed with seven, up from none last week. Fairview dropped to 13 from last week’s 20 cases. Woodward almost doubled in cases with 65 compared to 34 last week. Enid increased from 113 last week to 149 in Thursday’s report.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, there are no active cases among inmates or staff in the state. There is one inmate in quarantine at the Enid Community Corrections Center.


According to an OSDH map showing the average cases by county over a four week period, Woods County is at 42 for the third week. Alfalfa County has also stayed steady at eight. The Harper County average has increased by four to 14 cases over the last four weeks. Major County is up from 84 last week to 100 currently. Woodward County averaged 134 cases, compared to 118 a week ago. Garfield County had 311 active cases in the past four weeks, up from 243 a week ago.
