Looking at a 1955 Packard Caribbean coupe on the internet, I was fascinated with the instrument panel, which was stainless steel with engine turning, analogue gauges for engine functions and speedometer with white background and Gold accent needles. It was glorious to look at, a stark contrast to today’s impressive but intimidating touch screen control with piano key gear selection.
