Graveside services for Charles Clifford "Chuck" Polf were held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2022, at the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery with Reverend Ron Pingelton officiating. The arrangements were entrusted to Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
Charles Clifford "Chuck" Polf, son of the late Zelner and Anna (Epp) Polf, was born February 20, 1941, in Turpin, Oklahoma, and passed away July 30, 2022, in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years, 5 months, and 10 days.
Soon after his birth, Chuck's family moved to Turpin, Oklahoma, and he graduated from Liberal High School. In September, 1960, he entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged in March, 1961.
On October 27, 1964, he was united in marriage to Rita Kay Murray in Denver, Colorado. They lived in Turpin, then moved to Alva in 1965. He was a welder for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company for 35 years.
He was a member of the Mennonite Church in Turpin, and attended the First Christian Church in Alva. He enjoyed attending and chaperoning his kids activities while they were in school. His hobbies included woodworking, painting, drawing, painting the windows at his old high school and making paper mache masks.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Rita, of Alva; two sons, Jeffrey Polf of Orlando, Oklahoma, and Zelner Polf and wife, Andrea, of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; one brother, Dewey Polf and wife, Sherrilyn, of Tyrone; two grandchildren, Kaden Polf and Liam Polf; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for research into Essential Tremors.
