On the street where you live

As a child I remember learning left and right in relation to hands and to putting on shoes. East and west were related to the sun rising and setting, but north and south were more difficult. Finally I learned those directions based on my home, and it became much easier to remember. Learning to tell time was also a challenge faced by kids in years past when we relied on clocks with hands and numbers.
