Airport commission to consider AWOS upgrade bids

August 7, 2022

Bids were opened Aug. 5 for an upgrade of the AWOS (automatic weather observing station) at the Alva Regional Airport. The Alva Airport Commission will hold a regular meeting Monday at 7 p.m., and the AWOS upgrade bids are on the agenda for action.

Commission members will also vote on authorizing the mayor to execute the OAC (Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission) grant agreement and all other necessary documents for the city’s five percent match on the AWOS upgrade project.

The agenda also calls for discussion and action on the five year CIP (capital investment plan) for the airport.

There will be reports from staff including the city council report and the airport manager’s report.

At the end of the meeting, any citizens present may make inquiries or remarks, limited to two minutes per speaker.

Airport commission members will also be given an opportunity to speak on topics not on the agenda.
