Keep the blood supply rolling this summer

Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) needs you to keep the blood supply “rolling along” this summer.

OBI is hosting a blood drives in your area:

Aug. 12 – Extreme – 1 to 6 p.m.

Aug. 14 – First Christian Church – 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. & Atwoods of Alva – 3 to 5 p.m.

Aug. 19 – Zooks Market in Waynoka – 1 to 5 p.m.

Aug. 20 – City Park in Freedom – 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Aug. 24 – Northwest Technology Center Multipurpose Room – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Aug. 30 – Cherokee High School Auditorium – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All successful blood donors will receive a free “Keep Rolling Along” summer t-shirt and their choice of the following tickets:

One free ticket to Science Museum Oklahoma

One free ticket to Frontier City Theme Park

Two free tickets to Safari Joe’s H2O Water Park

“We continue to need blood donors and summertime brings additional challenges,” said Dr. John Armitage, president and CEO of OBI. “We’re so thankful to our loyal summer partners for helping us reward those who make their summer a lifesaving one by donating blood for those in need.”

Appointments to donate can be made online at obi.org or by calling 877-340-8777. Blood donation typically takes only about an hour, and one donation saves up to three lives.
