I don't say good job Kelly very often, but good job Kelly the Mayor. Unknown to most of us we had a break in one of the main water lines this week. Had it not been for Kelly Parker it would have remained a secret. Kelly got on Facebook and talked about the break and the great city water crew that worked all night repairing it. Thanks to Kelly for sharing the story. High fives all around for Drake, Rod, Chance, Tristan, and Jordon, and their dedication to keeping the water flowing.

School started this week. I like this: "Teachers don't teach for the income. Teachers teach for the outcome." Thanks for all your hard work. Have a safe and fruitful year.

God's word and understanding? Sometimes not. A 5-year-old Louisiana girl was denied going to kindergarten, after going to pre-K last year at the school. The Bible Baptist Academy refused to accept her because her parents are in a same sex marriage.

While a private school has every right to choose who goes to school there, they missed the mark here. What message did they send to a little girl that just wanted to be with her friends? At 5 years old, I don't think she thinks about right or wrong with her parents, or about how she feels about sexuality.

They have found her another school to attend. These Baptists probably did her a favor by not letting her into their misguided judgment. While I kind of like boy-girl marriages, I don't judge the right or wrong of several "accepted practices." If we all will just get along, God will be the final judge of the right or wrong of it all.

Sometimes my friends amaze me. I was visiting with one the other day, and he had quite a story. A few nights ago he stayed at the bar too long, drank too much, and was really confused as he left. He drove around for a while and couldn't find his house. He saw a Pizza Hut, so he went in and ordered a pizza for delivery to his house, and then he just followed the delivery guy home.
