The Woods County commissioners quickly handled the few items on their agenda Monday morning and settled in to sign blanket purchase orders and other paperwork. Chairman Randy McMurphy opened the meeting with Commissioners David Hamil and John Smiley present.

The commissioners approved a temporary easement with Royce Friend for a $1 per month lease of land for a stockpile. Smiley said District 3 uses the property to stockpile materials.

A material request for District 1 was approved.

The commissioners also approved an application by the Sheriff’s Department for a $20,000 Safe Oklahoma grant.

Hamil reported he is working on getting an engineer scheduled to look at the Woods County Senior Citizens building. Before work can be approved, bid specifications will need to be drawn up and then the county will go out for bids.
