Alva Chamber Community Coffee held at BancCentral

The September Alva Chamber Community Coffee was held Friday morning at BancCentral National. Guests visited with each other while enjoying breakfast pastries and muffins, fresh fruit skewers and coffee.

Chamber Executive Director Jodie Bradford-Stevison welcomed everyone and encouraged people to enjoy the Big Cruise and Car Show this weekend. The new Alva guide book has been printed and is available at the Chamber office.

Brenda Hood showed posters for the second Northwest Mural Fest to be held Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Alva. There will be an opportunity to meet the artists Friday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. at Graceful Arts Gallery. A 5K Fun Run will be held Saturday morning at 8 a.m. There will be music, games and food trucks on the downtown square from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, and people are invited to watch the artists paint the murals. Mural signings by the artists will be on Sunday.


Holly Hicks gave information about the first BancCentral Fall Fest to be held downtown on Friday, Oct. 14, from 3 to 8 p.m. with numerous activities. The Lane Haas Band and the Alva Band of Gold will provide musical entertainment.

Magen Lehr reminded everyone of the BankIt program. Currently donations are going to the Little Red Hens.

Kelsey Martin provided an update on athletic events scheduled at Northwestern Oklahoma State University as well as the Constitution Day open forum and dialogue event on Sept. 22 which is open to the public.

BancCentral CEO Mike Mariano closed out the program, thanking guests for attending. Mariano was recently named to the position at the bank and said he is enjoying being in Alva.
