Ranger Soccer ties for first time in conference

ALVA, Okla. – The Rangers hosted their fourth conference game of the season against Harding University. The Rangers and Bison played 90 minutes for a scoreless match, ending in a 0-0 tie. This moves the Rangers to 4-4-2 and the Bison to 1-7-2.
It was a cool 80 degrees early on Saturday morning when the Rangers faced the Bison. In the first half, the Rangers out-shot the Bison 13 to three, with four shots on goal. The Rangers had most of the possession in the first half and had numerous opportunities on the Bison's keeper but were unable to find the back of the net. The Rangers' keeper, Rachel Brown, only had to make two saves throughout the half.
Moving into the second half, the Rangers found more opportunities on the Bison with seven shots on goal and nine shots in total for the second half. The Ranger offense worked tirelessly, conceding just one goal to be up on the Bison but were unable to find the back of the net. Meanwhile, the Ranger defense dominated at keeping the ball from making it into the Bison's attacking third. In total the Rangers had 22 shots while the Bison only had seven throughout the 90-minute match.
Next week the Rangers will host Southern Nazarene University on Thursday at 6 p.m. on the Alva Recreation Complex Ranger soccer field.
