The Kiowa City Council held their hearing for the 2023 proposed budget. No members of the public attended the brief meeting Sept. 22 at 6 p.m.

The council passed the mil levy at 44.66, which is revenue-neutral. The city's 2022 mil levy was 46.299.

The city's total operating budget for 2023 is $3,308,429. The general fund expenditures are $760,700 for 2023. The estimated tax rate is 38.409.
