Back when an audit revealed funds designated for the Alva Regional Airport had been spent on City of Alva general fund expenses, the city made an agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to pay back those funds, with interest, over a ten year period. Most of those airport funds were from FAA grants to be used in future airport project.
