Strong wind Sunday followed by light rain Monday

Strong winds on Sunday caused some downed tree limbs in the area. The Woods County Courthouse had a large limb broken from a tree near power lines. The wind kicked up dust that caused at least one motor vehicle collision in the area. It also caused some problems for fire departments battling a grass fire near Nash. The smoke and fire caused a shutdown of State Highway 11 Sunday afternoon. There were some reported power outages in the southwest part of Alva Sunday morning.
