Goldbugs playoff hopes end with 20-14 loss to OCS

Only four teams make it to the district football playoffs in Alva's Class 2A-1. The Goldbugs had a slim chance of that happening as they went into the home contest against Oklahoma Christian School (OCS) Friday night. At halftime, the Alva team was down 10-0 with chances still good for a win. But in the end, OCS took the victory with a one touchdown lead 20-14.

The loss put Alva in a tie with Perry for a fifth place ranking. After Friday night, the top four spots are now held by Millwood, OCS, Newkirk and Hennessey.
