Waynoka FFA attends 95th national convention

November 2, 2022

Wednesday, Oct. 26, FFA chapter officers, members and sponsors headed to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the 95th National FFA Convention. While traveling down one of the many interstates members were able to see "The Gateway Arch" in St. Louis, Missouri!

Thursday was "Opening Session" at the convention and the morning started out with listening to Jessica Goucher sing along with other chorus members. Motivational speaker for the session was former WNBA player Tamika Catchings. After the session the group made their way to Louisville, Kentucky, for a tour of the Churchill Downs facility and museum where the Kentucky Derby is held and then to the Louisville Slugger factory and museum.

Friday was back to the convention to view multiple expo exhibits at the events center. We squeezed in a little shopping at the FFA convention "mall" as well as a few songs on the dance floor to show off our moves and then the group headed west to Illinois to stop for the night for their next day of activities.

Saturday, we drove to Waterloo, Iowa, and toured the John Deere Tractor and Engine Museum. We sat on a couple of the tractors, designed our own, and saw how the older engines work.

During the trip the group hit a total of six states and traveled approximately 2,180 miles and a lifetime of memories were made! Photos and videos of the trip can be seen on YouTube page "Waynoka FFA."
