This is the season of giving where we all make up lists of family members and possibly some close friends for whom we spend hours thinking up and purchasing the perfect gift. There is such an emotional rush we get when we give that gift to the intended person, because it shows them the love, we have for them. God showed us his love by giving us the greatest gift of all, His son, Jesus the Christ! There is a saying, “It’s the thought that counts,” and God surely had great thoughts of us when he gave Jesus to be the sacrifice for our sins.
