Alva Goldbugs notch wins to advance to Shootout championship

The Alva Goldbugs faced an unknown quantity in the Enid JV Plainsmen to begin Alva-NWOSU Shootout play on Thursday. The Goldbugs quickly took over the fast-paced action, scoring 16 points to seven for Enid in the first quarter with Kyler Penco leading the way. In the second period, Penco and Daylon Malone scored 13 and 12 points respectively for most of the 29 points put on the board. Enid managed just 14, and Alva led 45-24 at halftime. Alva outscored the Enid JV 17 to seven in the third period. Both teams had 13 points in the final quarter, and Alva won 75-41.
