In I Kings 3:16-28, the story is told of the wisdom of Solomon. Two prostitutes were living together, and they both had baby boys just 3 days apart. One of the women lay on her baby one night so that it died. She promptly got up in the middle of the night and secretly exchanged her dead baby for the live one, and in the morning when the other mother got up to nurse her son, she found it dead. After close examination, she realized it wasn’t her son at all and knew the other mother had switched babies but wouldn’t give her back her son.
She brought the case before king Solomon, who by his wisdom...
