Northwestern Scholarship Drive kicks off Feb. 8

February 5, 2023

An annual tradition encouraging the Alva community to invest in the students of Northwestern Oklahoma State University begins Feb. 8. Off-campus teams, consisting of a community member and either a University or Foundation & Alumni Association employee, and on-campus teams representing each campus building compete in raising funds.

These funds finance continuing student scholarships at Northwestern through the RISE (Rangers Investing in Students & Education) scholarship endowment, originally established in 2006. The Enid and Woodward campuses will also participate.

“We are very lucky to have such wonderful people volunteer their time toward Northwestern’s Scholarship Drive,” said President Bo Hannaford. “This effort directly impacts our students and shows them how much our university, our alums, and our community cares about them.”

Off-campus teams are led by Thelma Crouch and Dr. James Bell (co-chairs) and include Paul Corr, Deb Corr, Thelma Crouch, Charla Turner, Karen Koehn, Barbara Rockenbach, Traci Lohmann, Dayna Jordan, Jack Staats, Jeremiah Campbell, John Allen, Kaylyn Hansen, Calleb Mosburg, Linda Tutwiler, Stephanie Lambert, Rachel Stephenson, Skeeter Bird, Dr. Bo Hannaford, Jane Tucker, Lawana Newell, Shane Hansen, Jerrad Hada, Baylei Hada, Melissa Fisher, Dr. Mindi Clark, Megan Rice, Dr. David Pecha and Cale Leeper.

The on-campus teams are led by Dr. Steven Maier (chair) and include Michelle Kingcade, Julie Lehr, Kaylyn Hansen, Dr. Jennifer Mahieu, Dr. Jonathan Thomason, Dr. Tim Maharry, Dr. Wayne McMillin, Shane Hansen, Natalie Miller, Dr. Piper Robida, Shawna Gilbert, Dr. Dean Scarborough, Tara Hannaford, Markangela Kinnett, and Debbie Anderson.

The drive will end March 9 as the off-campus and on-campus teams tally their totals.
