Trooper returns home, surprises suspect

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was surprised to return home and find someone inside the shop building where he keeps his patrol vehicle.
Court documents show on Feb. 5 about 8:28 p.m. Woods County Sheriff’s Deputy James Jones was dispatched to a rural address on McClain Road to speak with Jeff Steelman about locating a man in his shop, possibly stealing from him.
When Jones arrived, he met with OHP Trooper Steelman who had the suspect detained. Jones placed handcuffs on the suspect, informing him that he was being detained and placing him in his patrol unit. While Jones was doing a pat sea...
