The Alva Chamber of Commerce has announced the top three nominees for the Citizens Choice Awards. The winners in each category will be announced during the Citizens Choice Awards Gala on Thursday, March 23.

The top three nominees in each category are:

• Service Business of the Year: BancCentral, Bushman Heat and Air, Northwest Technology Center

• Entertainment Business of the Year: Alva Recreation Complex, The Bull Smokehouse & Saloon, Cherokee Strip Museum

• Citizen of the Year: Dr. Kay Decker, Stan Kline, Steve Sterling

• Educator of the Year: Kasey Adair, Tim Argo, Kala Mead

• Arts, Music and Theatre Award: Dr. Karsten Longhurst, Greg McClure, Naicee Sutter

• Retail Business of the Year: Bates Bows Co. & More, G&G Home Furnishings, LaDeeda

• Lifetime Achievement Award: Randy Hamilton, Pat Harkin, Wylodean Linder

• Community Positive Impact Award: Angelia and Valarie Case, Joe Parsons, The Little Red Hens

• Healthcare Professional: Dr. Scott Burk, Steve Madrid, PA-C, Dr. Troy Smith

• Public Safety Professional: Tim Clapp, David Cummings, Dennis Kilmer

The gala will begin at 6 p.m. at 4 Generations Organic, 2847 College Blvd. in Alva (across the highway from the Alva Regional Airport). Tickets for the event are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce office at 502 Oklahoma Blvd. and will also be available at the door. In addition to the awards, there will be food and entertainment as well as a silent auction.
