Package of education bills passes House

 


The House passed a package of education bills this week that would give more funding to our public schools, including money for teacher pay raises, and more educational choices for parents and students. The measures now await action by the state Senate.

House Bill 2275 would appropriate $500 million in additional funding to public schools throughout the state. The money would be spent on $2,500 pay raises for every teacher not designated as an administrator; $50 million to go to schools receiving below-average funding from annual local tax revenue; and $300 to be distributed to districts on a...
