The City of Kiowa's insurance for all city buildings, vehicles, equipment, generators and fire vehicles dominated discussion at the March city council meeting Monday night.

Mayor Bill Watson owns an insurance agency in Kiowa and the city routinely purchases their property insurance from him as a rep for EMC. The council decided to get bids from some other companies also to make sure they were getting the most cost-effective deal for the city – ultimately taxpayers.
