It was a short meeting Wednesday morning for the Woods County Excise Board. Chairman Joe Shirley opened the meeting with board members Chris Olson and Bob Seivert present. County Clerk Shelley Reed was also at the meeting.

After approving minutes of the Feb. 15 meeting, the board members discussed monthly appropriations for the county. They were curious about a donation of $7,720 to the sheriff’s office. Reed explained that the money was a grant or donation from BNSF to the sheriff’s office which they plan to use to purchase a drone. She said it was classified as a donation on the advice of the auditor. The following monthly appropriations were approved:

The transfer of appropriations from the General Treasurer’s M & O to the Treasurer’s Travel in the amount of $2,000 was acknowledged.

Board members also acknowledged the transfer of appropriations from Highway District 1 to Highway District 1 personal services and Highway District 2 CIRB to District 2 personal services. Each was in the amount of $14,312.30.
