Unanimously passed, SB 976 creates invasive species task force

This past week, we hit our deadline for floor votes on bills that were introduced by members of the Senate. One of my own bills was taken up and passed unanimously Monday, Senate Bill 976, creating the Invasive Species Task Force.

Invasive species are exactly what they sound like – a species that is either imported from another part of the U.S. or even another country, but because they are non-native, they can do tremendous damage to our local habitats, whether they are in our lakes, creeks or rivers, our forests, prairies, or farmland.
