February Rotary Students of the Month honored

 

Rotary Students of the Month for February are (from left) Tehya Quinlan, Michael Wharton, Alva Rotarian Jason Gaisford.

Michael Wharton

Michael is the son of Ethan and Anita Wharton. High school activities include attending Northwest Technology Center, football, basketball and track. Outside of school he is active in community service. Michael is employed at Lite-n-Nite. He plans to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University and play football while working on his master's degree. The best advice he can give to a freshman is, "Don't blend in with the wrong crowd. Be part of your school activities as much as possible." His personal philosophy is, "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken."

Tehya Quinlan

Tehya is the daughter of Tracye Quinlan. High school activities include cheerleading and vocal. Activities outside of school include being a Washington Elementary School library aide. Tehya is employed at 818 Diner. She has no particular goals after graduation but she would like to go fishing with her friend, Jason Perks. The best advice she can give a freshman is, "Be nice to people, don't hurt their feelings." Her personal philosophy is, "Make it shine."
