Rangers conclude meet at Bethel

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – Northwestern Oklahoma State traveled to North Newton, Kansas, for a one day meet hosted by Bethel. At the meet the Rangers set one new school record.

In women's javelin Hunter McMillin set the tone for the Rangers finishing with a mark of 31.23m placing second in the event as one of three top 10 finishers in this event. Kelsey Swindle finished with a 28.61m along with Jordyn Tucker placing 10th with a mark of 26.85. Swindle followed the javelin event by placing top five in the hammer throw placing fifth with a mark of 41.91m.

Hannah Appleton competed in the shot put placing fifth overall in the event finishing with a best mark of 11.01m on Saturday. Appleton continued to succeed by placing third in the discus throw finishing with a mark of 35.26m.

Northwestern had a top 10 finisher in the triple jump as Ladasheray Bell placed fourth overall in the event after having a mark of 10.18m in the event.

In the high jump event Takia Zachary finished fourth in the event placing in the top 10 with a mark of 1.45m.

Jasmin Garcia was the Rangers' leading runner in the 1500 meters event placing eighth overall with a time of 5:25.06. In the 400 meters the Rangers had two individuals place in the top 10 as Ladasheray Bell finished third with a time of 1:02.61 and Emilie Brown at 1:34.43.

The 100 meters the Rangers once again found a lot of success as the team had four top eight finishers in the event. Debbie Olalere placed third with a time of 12.39 followed by Brianna Brantley with a time of 12.42. In seventh was Kenya Jackson with a final time of 13.03 before Krissalynn Henderson in eighth at 13.28.

In the 5000 meters Jasmin Garcia finished second overall in the event for her second event finishing in the top eight for the Rangers. Her final time was 20:40.93.
