I recently spent a long and enjoyable weekend in a very wealthy and affluent part of a city, observing and enjoying the displays of wealth and all that comes with it – beautiful cars, homes, entertainment venues, etc. I consider myself to be fairly stable and rational, but I can admit the environment was quite attractive, alluring and exciting.

With that said, in today’s world the line between what is a possession and what is us, as human beings, gets quite blurred. One needs to remember that these items of wealth are not an extension of us as humans, nor are they a reflection of our personali...
