Three police vehicles purchased in special city council meeting

• Water project bid approved

Special meetings of the Alva City Council and Alva Utility Authority (AUA) were held Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The agendas included the purchase of three police vehicles and accepting a bid on a water project. Council members present were Daniel Winters, Garrett Lahr, Taylor Dowling, Gail Swallow, Troy Brooks, Joe Parsons and Greg Bowman. Sadie Bier was absent.

The city council meeting opened with the swearing in of two city officials who weren't present when others received the oath of office on April 17. Ward 1 Councilmember Garrett Lahr and City Marshal Jim Scribner stepped forward, raising...
