School track records broken at SB elementary

It was a chilly, damp, overcast day last Friday for the South Barber Elementary Track Meet. It's always one of the highlights of the school year.

JUMPING HIGH – At South Barber's elementary track meet, fourth-grader Dyson Inman easily clears the high jump bar.

Principal Kaynette Scheck said students set some new records this year. She credits retired teacher Deb Hitchcock for volunteering to do the necessary research to determine the records that were broken.

New Record Results

Kindergarten standing long jump – old record: Adriaan Mostert 4' 9"; new record: Henry Molz 4" 11"

Kindergarten 20-meter backward race – old record: Annyston Courson 7.57; new record: Elena Ricke 7.34

2nd Grade 20-meter bear crawl – old record: Jeremy Pless 6.34; new record: Tacksen Ricke 5.97.

Certificate with chain and plastic runner – Jenna Shields, Race of the Champions

Certificate with No. 1 pin – Tacksen Ricke and Dyson Inman, both for receiving first place in all events, and Dyson Inman, for receiving first place in all events.
