Singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot experienced much success in the 1970s and early 1980s. But success brought with it a hectic lifestyle. Lightfoot often enjoyed – but sometimes regretted – the fast pace he was living.

As we have seen, many of his compositions feature characters who are homesick. Also, many of his songs (of which he wrote and recorded approximately 300) reflect a related concept: that of movement.
