No reason any kid in Oklahoma should be going hungry

Deb and I finished helping with Vacation Bible School this week. Our group consisted of T-1 and 1st graders. To be honest, helping might be too strong of a word. Our jobs were to control chaos.

There were times when we achieved our goals and sometimes chaos ruled. If I could just bottle their energy and take a dose when I needed to, that would be awesome.

One thing that I just can’t get out of my head, though, is how many of those kids in our group complained about being hungry every morning.

Now, I’m not naive. Those kids that age could eat a baked potato, a 16 ounce ribeye steak and a salad...
