As a fourth-generation horseman, my earliest memories involve horses. The earliest picture my parents have of me captures a scene of me in a stroller at one to two months old, sitting near the horse pens while my dad trained horses.

I never imagined I would have a philosophical opinion on the relationship between horses and man. I always viewed things in a very simple and utilitarian way, i.e., man rode horses to make his life easier, and man’s will is stronger than the will of a horse.
