A woman from Wakita was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash in Grant County on Sunday. Oletta A. Helms, 62, of Wakita, was transported by Medford EMS to Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center in Enid where she was admitted in serious condition with head and arm injuries.
The wreck occurred at 7:34 p.m. Sunday at County Road 880 and Major Road, approximately two miles east and four miles north of Wakita.
Helms was driving a 2009 Dodge pickup southbound on County Road 880, departed the roadway to the left, departed the roadway to the right, over-corrected and went into a roll. The pickup rolled one complete time, coming to rest on its wheels. Helms was wearing her seatbelt.
Trooper Tate Butler investigated, assisted by Troopers Carter Mathews and Seth Sturgeon. Also at the scene were the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Manchester Fires Department, Medford EMS and Miller EMS.
