Alfalfa County commissioner Nate Ross gives updates on items passed through legislative committee

During their Monday meeting, Alfalfa County Commissioners Garret Johnson and Mike Roach got an update from fellow commissioner Nate Ross about some bills that made it through committee this legislative session. One that was on their radar was House Bill 3054 regarding gross production tax and ad valorem taxation exemptions. Ross said legislators did not change the bill's wording as they [the commissioners] had hoped and, in fact, passed it through with a 36-0 vote. He noted that many of the politicians who appeared to initially oppose the bill flip-flopped and passed it through unanimously.
